There's some cute babies right there! Our barn cat has something wrong with her. She was pregnant once that we know of and only had one kitten, which was killed by raccoons. She's been bred several times by the local talent but has never produced much beyond a big belly. She gets fat, gets...
have found that buying those dried out little sets gets small onions. If youwant big onions go to the nursery and get a brick of live onion shoots. its like planting individual blades of grass... but they grow so fast and get so big its worth the hours on your belly in the garden!!!
I have so many cabbage butterflies that I planted my kale and raddicchio and mixed salad things in my wheelbarrow salade gardne, and I'm going to build a frame that will fit over it that I will line with screens to keep air and sunlight coming in but keep those stupid bugs out.
My raspberries are now 3 year old. I will finally get enough to make a pie this year! We got one quart of berries last year from my canes. I started with 3, now there are about 12.

There are 50 year old lilacs in the far end of our yard. I think they get too much shade, because they are thinly leafed out and don't get many blossoms. There's and old cottonwood shading them... it could go, but I dont want to lose the old tree next to it. I don't know what it is, but its...
I don't like to add "things" to make them crispy. And the main issue is the saltiness. Used to be that you were supposed to add alum to keep them crisp, but that is aluminum and really, I don't want to give myself alzheimers from pickles.
The recipe I used was like 1 cup mortons canning and pickling salt to 1 gallon of water/vinegar. Packed raw cuckes into jars with dill and garlic, poured boiling brine over them, and water bathed.
Well, my garden prep will include pulling the vines that I didn't get pulled before the snow flew, and then tilling in some organic matter, and planting.
Hey,
So, last year was my first attempt at making dill pickles at home. My mom canned and jellied EVERYTHING, but she never made pickles, so I just avoided them out of "tradition", and because my cucumbers never grew.
Last year I decided to go overbaord with my planting, in the hopes of...
I am wondering if I can really get any valuable use out of cold frames here in Northern MN? With normal winter arriving at the end of October and lasting till mid-April, would I be able to put plants out in the cold frame if there is snow around it and get anything accomplished?
