    Tomato/Stalk Borer; http://www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/hortnews/1992/7-22-1992/tomato.html If the tomatoes are close then they could also have blight. If it is blight you can space them further apart so that they get plenty of air then hit them with a Copper Fungicide Spray or Dust. Chris

    I think that joz may have more than one problem, I see a spot on the stem that looks like it might be a sign of Tomato Borer and I think that the tomatoes may have a virus or blight on top of that. Here is one of joz's pictures with the spots that look like tomato borer. Chris

    When I am planting a new variety of let say a tomato, I will plant no less than 24 seeds and then plant no less than 12 plants of that variety in the garden. Don't want to wast time or space on someting that isnt going to work. ;) Chris

    :) Kerosene in a Rx. bottle. Tecnu works so well because the main active ingredient is Mineral Spirits which is a Paraffin AKA Kerosene. It good for the skin also. My Grandfather used straight Kerosene for poison ivy all the time. Chris
