    I hate to say it but if that soil is really wet the last thing you want to do is spade or till the soil. Buy spading or tilling the soil when it is wet you will only make matters worse for you in the long run and you will have soil the is very hard and full of clods when it does dry out. The...

    Great idea...

    I haven tried a coffee filter but I have had good luck with a small piece of window screen placed over the whole. I cut a small piece of window screen a little bigger than the whole I'm covering then I use some Marine Epoxy to fasten into place. Chris
