awesome steve. I am still trying on my weight watechers. My total is 22 pounds. I even went down a size. I need to keep at it though cause my biological clock wants me to eat a bit more and sleep a bit more now that it is getting cooler. (and by cooler I mean 80+ degrees)
whoodat has a really great idea here. I have a friend who was so impressed with my garden that he started his own. So he just plopped down some cheap top soil from Lowes on top of the grass without even tilling. So needless to say they had a horrible season and are really discouraged by the...
How about zinnia or butterfly weed? The zinnias bloom only after about 12 weeks from seed so you could get them going early hand have real early bee, I would think. I have seen a ton of bees around them, the butter fly weed and the tithonia. But the tithonia took a while to bloom.
I'd be nervous of both the burining of debris and the weed killer. But if that is were you want to plant let deal with it. So first off get a soil sample. HiD said she got one once and it showed her that she got heavy metals in her soil and all kinds of nasty....That way you know what your...
I am just as confused on this topic. I have grow freakish crosses before that I though were a result of cantelop/cucumbers. I also grew an anahiem pepper next to a serrano and a whole season of crosses between those with each one either being serrano like or long slender serranos. But I...
I planted my soy beans in Late April/Early May. Thanks for the advice though. I really want to get them to grow cause of the long hot heat here, I think they could be the most productive of all the summer veggies.
I tried very unsuccessfully to grow them this year. I want them so bad but only got spindly little plants that produced little or nothing. I also got very poor germination. My seeds were from park... so maybe I will try a different variety next year.
So did you buy those from Baker's Creek or do you think your sees got mixed. I usually like baker's creek but in my last order I was not so happy. I order some peas (Alaska or Wando. I think) And out of the whole pack I got maybe 10 plants. And usually I have such great germination with...
Awesome! Where in Montana are you from? I lived for two years in Bozeman while I was getting my master's. Any way so from the thread you will be planting in Georgia?
As for planting I am in 8A and have generally mild winters. I had my cherry tomato plants from last year that I had to pull...
how big is your garden? Do you have a tiller? I have 3 8x4 beds that I planted Parks cover crops mix in last winter. It had some rye in it. Well anyway. I found that it was not easy to pull up by hand and ended up through my back out and having a cyatic nerve problem with after trying. So...
Anyone use it by itself as a fertilizer? It is in the mother earth new article in their fertilizer recipe. But as I was surfing the net a few article mentioned just adding it by itself to flowers like pansies. I bought a huge bag like 50 lbs so i could if it was ok.
