Wow, time flies. Time for this thread again. I added some amendments to my beds. And all of the rain So Cal has gotten is watering them in nicely. I have not thought much beyond that.
I have saved several types of heirloom pumpkin and squash seed I would like to plant this year. As well...
I have done the Topsy turvy thing on my own and I received one as a gift. I am not really impressed with either. My own are in plastic coffee buckets and the plants are flowering but very small. The actual turvy containers are only a couple weeks old but doing ok. The plants are already...
DigitS, that tunnel is way cool. We have many of those around where I live. On a larger scale of course. Many hill side nurseries. I think I need one. :D
So far from my garden I have picked, lettuce, raddish, zucchini, chives, carrots, herbs and beets. There have been a few snow peas but they never make it in. The kids eat them straight from the plant. My green and wax beans are on fire and should be ready in a week or so. Yum!!!
I have two worm farms. One like the one pictured earlier in the thread and another that's more like a rectangle tub. My fil says his dad always had five gallon buckets in the garage with worms. I think if you soaked some shredded newspaper and rung out excess water you would not need more...

Wow, things are looking great. I like the tomato cages. I think I will have to find some old fence and make some up. 50 plants wow!! I planted my new beds a couple weeks ago. Everything's coming up. My chickens raided my lettuce bed. Ate everything. Now I think I need to fence something...
hey beavis, we have had some great ether. So you have an up date pic on the raised beds? I direct seeded last week and I have little green sprouts everywhere. So exciting. :D
Gardens are looking great. Did you get any hale yesterday? or perhaps snow?? We got three rounds of little hail stones between 6 and 10pm last night. I checked my garden this am. Everything was a bit flat. I am sure it will recover though. Keep up the great gardens. :)
It says that his mother is the artist who does the covers and they sell cards with all her past artwork. I though about framing some for my house. I liked them too!!!!
My adventure for this year is Bakersville Heirloom Seeds. While doing an online search about Mansfield Mo. I found this pioneer village that specializes in rare seeds. I requested a catalogue and it just came the other day. It is amazing. I really can't decide on what to order I want to try...
Wow, Beavis do you ever stop. I am impressed that you have another one going already. I planted some artichokes last year. They did ok. I was just trying to keep them alive with hopes that they would take off again in spring. Keep us updated.
