I have some neighbor tree roots going across my driveway garden, and going under my driveway. The tree is a huge oak or maple.I really need to learn tree ID.Anyway, I have this root I want to cut.It is huge. Can I use a circular saw;is that safe? I don't own an ax. I want to cut it at the fence...
Nice little vac. I used my shop vac recently to get up all the old shaving that is really more like saw dust in our chicken shed. I even drag it out to the pond and suck up the muck at the bottom.
One of my garden books has a photo of a perm. straw garden bed.Just push the straw aside and plant.Cover back up at the end of growing season. I mix my straw with paper, leaves, and grass clippings.
I did read it was good to put around strawberry plants!
I bought some buckwheat and oats from bountiful gardens. They also sell the others you mentioned.I got a sack of oats from the feed store.I also get my flax from the feed store, and just throw the seeds around.
I picked up a bag of strawberries from wallys last year.I think it was 10 for $3.They are growing well.
I never had any luck with blueberry plants no matter where I bought them from!
It is a big hole at the bottom of the trunk.Probably gets rain in it.I think there were some ants around.I guess I will leave it.I do have some other seedling trees growing, and will properly tend to those. Will leave the old tree for the animals.
There was a big cherry tree full of ants when we...
I like chamomile,rose hips,or catnip for teas.
I like dandelions too.Slew of health benefits from that root.I first came across it when buying dandy blend. Now I just dig up those weeds!
I got spearmint and chocolate mint as plants, but I have seen seed listed at bountiful gardens.Could give them a try,but best bet is plants.Maybe you could try rooting some mint that is sold at the grocery store.I have seen some sold with the stalk, and some herbs are even sold potted!
And boy...
Do I fill the hole with foam filler spray or wood filler?Maybe cement? It is a fairly deep hole.Suprised the tree is still alive.Did not see any ant activity, but I do have a lot of carpenter ants in the yard I am working on.
The tree is old and overgrown.Needs pruning, but to tall for me to do...
I saw a step by step on installing the HF greenhouse on line.Gives modification tips for problems.

My mom has a small one for years, and it is still doing well. She did reinforce the panels with bamboo or something to hold them in place during high wind storms.

We could have worse addictions.I have a box full of seeds, and yet I am always looking at packets at the store.Putting money aside for plants and tools. When asked what I want for holidays I always say....dirt,mulch,tools,or seeds.Never buy me flowers only plants!
Hope your plants make it. I have...
Our red sex link hens laid all winter despite being in a rather dark and uninsulated metal shed. I was expecting to buy eggs this winter, and was so happy we never had too.
I have 4 foot fencing that my girls rarely fly over.I think 3 would be ok,but if dh wants 4 get 4...but they can still make it over that.I have a 6ft chainlink, and they have yet to fly over that.My hens run/fly when startled.I have noticed that they try to look for a way under the fence rather...

I used some sevin powder last year.I had a sprayer and mixed the sevin with water, but clogged up the sprayer. It was great while it sprayed. The bugs were hard to catch and kill, but I did do it when I wasn't killing the japanese beetles.
Maybe someone will come up with a biological control...
