It's snowing sideways here! :P
We're under a Blizzard Warning right now...lots of wind and lake effect snow tonight thru tomorrow.
I'm not looking forward to driving to work in the morning.... :/

I agree with journey. Since it's a '4 in 1' cherry tree, my first concern would be cutting back those taller limbs (limb J!) to round out the overall shape of the tree, which would allow even growth of the different grafted varieties. If allowed to grow...
It wasn't a good tomato year here....lol.... or a good curcurbit year for that matter.....:P
We always do a cherry tomato in a container on the deck and it usually flourishes...but ours struggled this summer...we didn't start getting tomatoes till later in the season...we had so much spring...

Homemade Eggnog Recipe
After cooking the eggs, we strain it thru a sieve to get any little bits that may have gotten cooked. Also, we like to use vanilla and rum extract for more flavor.
and looking back over it, it is a pretty time-consuming recipe  ...but...
Yup, you are correct Steve....I was taking a lot of the Throat Coat a few weeks back due to a persistant cough/cold/respiratory issues. It helps, but the flavor isn't my fav. I think it's the slippery elm or licorice root....? This time I got the Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat and I like that...
hmm.....favorite tea.....
I'm no tea connoisseur....but I would have to say peppermint tea is my fav. It's great in the evening after a big meal.
The past few years I've been taking herbal teas from Traditional Medicinals when I start getting a cold, etc. They seem to help my immune system...
Oh man...we just googled it and found a recipe online....it uses up a dozen eggs! :bow
It's not hard to make...with the recipe we use, we cook the eggs just to be on the safe side...that's the hardest part cuz you have to stir them for 20 mins or so....but it's REALLY good in the end....just...
:thumbsup
Now that it's December and the snow and cold have arrived here, I'm feeling the Holiday spirit too.
As far as 'honoring the garden'....my family puts up a lot of applesauce this time of year! My mom loves making it...she makes big batches and freezes them. Our favorite apples for...
LOL...yup....thanks to Lake MI we get dumped on with extra 'lake effect' snow. Makes for good snowmobilling. :thumbsup
Having the whole lake effect is kinda nice as it helps moderate the temps too....it's supposedly Zone 6 along the lakeshore whereas further inland it's Zone 5.

Cool thread!
I REALLY want to try a pawpaw fruit some time. I've read about the flavor of the fruit in catalogs and I would like to try it first hand. They grow wild around here in SW MI....but not by our house. I haven't been able to get around to finding any while they are ripe. :( Thanks...
Man....that reminds me.....I have carrots in the ground too!!!
Hope all yall enjoyed your snow down south. :P We've had our hard freezes already, but we got some snow this past week as well...it's a winter wonderland! Temps are in the 20's and 30's here....brrrr.....had to plug in...
hmm....I was wondering if the flavor would be the same....good to hear they had the 'vine-ripened flavor' after all!
I think that would be a fun experiment for next year...to see how the flavor of a vine-ripened tomato compares to a banana-ripened tomato. :P I wanna try it!
I've only had...
:yuckyuck (Ron's post! I agree tho...you need a stop sign for that wall....)
Beautiful hollyhocks journey! I think your new color is awesome. Plus your row of them is great....it looks like a picture from a seed catalog where they show you all the colors that are in the mix. :D The...
Awesome! :thumbsup
We'll be expecting pics of your new blueberry patch soon....:P
but yah...we have a bunch of blueberry farms up here too....nothing like fresh blueberries in late summer! :drool That reminds me....we need to go pick up some frozen ones.....hmm.....
