And if you have never tired Kale chips, Oooooooo.....Yummy!
Could you use the swiss chard in a fresh salsa? I love all of the other ideas too. I just have never really cared for chard. You know...the one time I tried it. :D
Last Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday it was 95-100+. Our thermometer in the sun said 120 on Saturday. That is just no good! I'm with you there skeeter!!
But then...on Sunday early evening, the storm clouds rolled in and we had thunderstorms. We sat outside under the porch (yes...as...
Well...I am happy for you that you have such a thing as a fall/winter garden. The only thing I can grow in the winter is snow banks. They just grow and grow and grow. :lau
Bay what a great harveest!! And what a cute little helper. I had not read this thread but just did from the begining. I would say all of your hard work and heart ache paid off!
We have 5 broody hens right now. This year I am just letting them do their thing. I have interfeared in the past and the results weren't good: abandoning nest, killing chicks, etc.
Over the past few days, we have found 3 fully developed chicks at different times dead on the coop floor. 1...
Nothing says Massachusetts to me more than cedar shakes on the houses! I love it. Your purple bearded irises are beautiful! I thought I got some last year. But what I actually got are pale purple and yellow. :( They are ok, but nothing compared to that rich deep purple!!
Beautiful pics...
I would say it is yucca. I have two in my yard in Maine, so I am guessing you can grow them in NY.
I wish I could give you more info on the Batchelors Button. I have tried to grow them once because they reminded me of Nana s yard when I was little, but they didn't make it. My guess is they...
Chickie's Momma...where is this multi-family yard sale. Don't keep it a secret? I have to work for 2 more hours, but maybe they would still be there. :D
I think you will be amazed! Mommas will hold their own even if they are not at the top of the pecking order. And the last time we had a broody hatch one, that baby was out of the nest after a few days and Momma had her getting up to the roosting pole 4ft off the ground within a week.
I bet...
We love peepers! It is a sure sign of spring where we live. I was also happy to find two frogs in one of our "ponds". I like them. I like thier noises and I like the fact that they eat bugs. :pop Taste like popcorn they say.
Very pretty! Irises are one of those tubers that you could just toss in the back of your compost pile and not even plant them and they would do fine. Tough buggers! What a nice gift. :D
