    good tasting accident

That sounds like great idea. I'll strain my next batch of salsa and can the juice seperately. I always drink the liquid left in the bottom of the bowl, why not can it separately.

So now that we've picked our popcorn, what do we do

Yes, that is what I do. We have to pick our corn before the rains come or it gets moldy. We spread it out in boxes a couple of layers deep and store it in our enclosed patio. We check it regularly for mold. Sometimes I get impatient and bring some inside the house where it is warmer and it dries...

What did you can (freeze, dehydrate, preserve) today?

I made Chili sauce and Salsa. Today I'm cooking down tomatoes for tomato paste. By the way I puree my tomatoes whole in the blender and then add them to the pot to make sauce or paste. Just wash, cut up into pieces small enough for the blender to handle, puree and pour into the pot. No boiling...

    Dried Red Tomatoes

We use our dehydrators so much, we have 5 of them. Thanks to second hand stores, we get them for around $5. Last year was the first time we dried tomatoes. We had grown paste tomatoes and one that was supposed to be good for drying. They all turned out real good and we started eating them...

Does anyone have egg gourd seeds? or know where I can get some?

Bluebird, thanks for all those sites. I love growing gourds and try to grow something different every year. I like the idea of making ornaments, I could possibly sell those at our family christmas tree farm.

Onion sets - When and How???

We plant ours in november. We hoe a small trench, lay the onion starts in about 4 inches apart and then hoe the dirt back over. We mark the rows with sunflower sticks (they decompose easily). We do our best to keep them weeded, we hoe or till a few times and water lots until sometime in june...
