my mom got me a white clematis for some holiday early in the year and i planted and it flat out died (so i thought) but just within the last week, after months, it has sprouted out and grown about 2 feet already. the secret to clematis is keeping the roots cool.
i have two pots like this i have mother in laws tongue plants that i sit in (they are in terra cotta pots i just place down in it). i may put it in one of these.

i'm not really sure what the purpose of the rocks is, but it could be to keep the rain from the beating the earth out where the water falls and thus splashing dirt up on the house or it could just serve as mulch so that you dont have to mow right up next to the house. are the rocks currently...
