    we just cut package and freeze. its not like out of the garden but we use it in soups and cassaroles. and some times we fry it right out of the package, don't thaw. hope this helps. this year we are going to vac pack some as well and see if that makes a difference.

    Butchering Day

    curly kate , do you scald them or dry pluck. we have a csa and between 4 of us we can knock out 25 to 40 in four hours but i have built a whiz bang plucker, really helps. and yes they taste great, tonight we had red onion and bbq chicken pizza, yum. glad to hear so many eating better.
