I don't have sprouts yet, but my dog keeps uncovering the pots my stealing the plastic. I tried putting them in ziploc bags, but then she stole the entire thing. :barnie
Visit my blog if you are in the mood to do an equal trade. I haven't counted the number of each type yet. Just let me know!

Also I have small baggies of wildflower seeds for a SASE. PM me for an address.
Well I planted them earlier this week. Not 10 minutes after planting them and placing them on the bottom shelf, my son AND dog knocked them over. :barnie I scooped the soil back up, but who knows where the seeds are. They are tiny and very, very black. *sigh* I am just glad I didn't plant...
I buy tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers in varieties specifically for containers. I have all of them in 5 gallon buckets and they do fine. But I water them 2x a day and they all have drip buckets.
My Select Seeds order came today. I can't wait to start the Stock. They also sent me a free pack of Cleome 'color fountains' I have never grown Cleome before.
I am keeping a garden log this year-name, year from, source, date planted, date sprouted, % sprouted, date transplanted, 1st harvest.
Does anybody do the same? Or is nobody as OCD as me? :ya
I think just more of a variety and you can get your seeds sooner than in the stores. I do both. I buy common varieties cheaper at stores and order special varieties.
Wile I was at Wal-Mart I picked up a pack of mixed cacti seeds. Has anyone ever grown cacti from seed? I assume they take a long time to sprout and will need to have the pots covered in glass or plastic wrap. Any advice? I also ordered succulent seeds from Parks and I assume they need...
Where in W. NC did you go? I am from Franklin. It is in the Southern part, near the border of GA and SC. I think the winters there are perfect. Some snow, some cold weather, but not too much. Where I live now it dusted snow one night and we had 50 accidents (black ice) and we are the...
I agree with both pat and Reinbeau. It could be rot or damage. Whatever it turns out to be I LOVE it. I wish I had one. Can you get a closer pic of it? I think a lot of rat tail cacti are a bit thicker, but I have looked and looked and I don't have a cacti ID book in my house or my classroom.
Corey,
I wish my digital camera was working! I could show you some pictures of my container gardens. I have rubbermaid containers, buckets, traditional flowerpots, etc. with a variety of things in them, but I don't section mine off. This summer I am going to use one to have an all in one...
Fortunately the morning glories I remember as a kid were all Ipomoea species gone wild. I can look at pics and id the flowers I remember as a kid. Passion Fruit/flower was another aggressive plant we dealt with. Wisteria would run rampant too, take over an abandoned house and crush it.
Every...
Once you start, you can't stop!
I ordered from Select Seeds. I have never heard of them before joining here. I love Morning Glories (matter of fact, that was my nick name as a kid) and saw a spectacular one 'Carnivale di Venezia' somewhere years ago. I looked and looked for it. I had given...
