Steamed, like spinach. But the other night I made some whole wheat penne pasta, added diced tomatoes, red pepper, lotsa garlic and olive oil, and steamed chard. Was great!
We have lots of asparagus right now! Pick your own just a couple of miles! Tonight.....penne pasta with olive oil and garlic, seasonings....then add grilled salmon and asparagus tips, fresh parmesan cheese on top.....yum!! One of our local restaurants makes this and its goooood!
Those of you in cold weather, I feel your pain! I started all my seeds in Jan. just to get the fever out! This weekend I planted all my tomatoes and they are beautiful since we've already had some nice rain. Spinach, potatoes, chard, onions, lettuce, all about 2" tall. Can't wait to start...
My compost pile is now getting "duck poo straw" as I call it. I'm pretty excited about that! You can see my website to understand what I mean. I have new ducks!
I have never hilled my okra and it just grows like crazy. I plant it up against a fence so it kinda leans against when it gets so tall.
And texture, I understand that, but I fry it up, coated with cornmeal and throw in some onions. MMMMMMM good!!

Made some tonight cause it's picking time! 3 min. steamed in the microwave, perfect....butter and garlic when done! Grab a rotisserie (sp?) chicken from your grocery deli and there's dinner! That's for me and hubby, kids out of the nest ;-)
Man, was I glad to read this post. I have the same problem! I like to gather my ducks poo on the straw and then I rake it up for the garden. Should be a beautiful summer!
