I dunno either. When I got the plants they just said "eggplant" on them. I just pick them when they look like they stop growing. I got me a good catalog that about 20 different varities of egg plants. They even have red eggplants and white egg plants and purple egg plants that I want to try next...

It took FOREVER for them to do anything. They even flowered long before I got any eggplants. Now they just wont quit sprouting egg plants. Mike

How do you get away with picking every other day? I am Houston(ish) and I have to pick twice a day or I end up with Okra that is to big. I had forgotten what fresh Okra taste like.

My russets and blue potatoes were a complete failure and I planted in March as well.

I picked them yesterday. Mine had flowers on them long before I had any eggplants. Those flowers were on there for what seemed like a few weeks. Iffin I get another one (I am sure I will) to make an eggplant I will post photos.
