Funny thing, I went out at about 6:30 am this morning and the female flowers never opened. The male ones did. I have a whole bunch of little two inch squashes. I am going to go out earlier tomorrow morning.
So, iffin I am looking at the photo correctly, the male will not have the squash on it? Is that right? I am having trouble getting the link to the article you refrenced (sp?).

I didnt even know what blood meal was until I read that and googled it. One spot even said that it makes your compost pile compost faster. Any experiance there?

Thats funny. I wasnt cool enough either, then we went to Sears and bought a table saw, compound miter saw, band saw, router and table, and I taught myself to build those items. I sell em on craigslist.
I build a lot of bird houses, garden benches, 5 tier garden planters etc etc etc, out of cedar. Can I use the cedar saw dust in the compost pile or is the cedar bad for the compost or plants?
