We have some wild blackberries growing quite prolifically in one of our side yards and tonight, my DD and I went out and picked some. We ended up only getting a little over a pint (more are ripening) and I was wondering how long they would keep before they aren't fit to eat.

How far apart do I have to plant them so I don't have to worry about cross pollination? Or is there a method that would allow me to plant them rather close without the worry?
I have read about making a bag and putting over flowers of things you don't want cross pollinated - but I'm not sure...
