I have seen the ceramic tile. They have some really pretty designs. I'm just afraid of anything ceramic around my kids :hide. Not that I'm not afraid of what's in the laminate, health-wise. Just searching for the best solution to both.
I love the idea of a movable greenhouse, @Devonviolet. Like a chicken tractor for vegetables, lol. Mine, however, will not be movable either. We sunk 8ft posts 2ft deep in my current garden, then went around them with a plastic fencing that has just a little smaller hexagon pattern than chicken...
I am loving your thread @Smart Red. I am in the middle of building what I am hoping will become a "convertible" green house. Praying it turns out even half as good as yours is looking!
@so lucky and @jackb, will you please give some pointers on how to save those seeds? Packaging, how cold, when to set out for the next year... any tips and tricks kinda things? I would love to get to where I don't have to buy seeds unless I want to try something new. I've searched on this...
Baymule, my sister lives in Port Neches. Everytime I go down there I tell her she needs to start a garden. I don't know that she would even need to tend to it. It always rains everyday we're there, but not too much to drown anything. We go down there every January and July. In it still feels...
Thanks, @majorcatfish. Very helpful information. This will be my first year for a Fall garden. We are starting out okay so we'll see how it goes. But, my spring/summer plants are still producing considering the unusually warms temps here in Oklahoma, so I hate to pull anything to make room. My...
Awesome @so lucky. I'm sure going to try it :fl I also have a friend who said that she would trade some seeds with me when I told her I ordered so much. :weee
Well, I stopped by Baker Creek's website today! I probably got A LOT more than what I should have, but I'll be able to do a (late, as usual) fall garden and bought some other stuff that I just couldn't help but try. YAY! :celebrate Now... to wait...
Thanks everyone! I've heard really good things about Baker Creek (mostly reading through threads here). I think I'm going to try ordering from their website. I love saving seeds, too! All I have done so far is cantaloupe (it did great this year!), but this year I have put back some okra to try...
Alright guys and gals... I can't find any newer posts on this subject, so I want to know everyone's recommendations on getting seeds!!! I have always picked mine up at Wal-Mart or somewhere like that so I want to try something different. Whether it be catalogs/websites, local stores, or big...
I kinda cheated. I pour Epsom Salt on the ground around the base of my tomatoes and peppers before I watered this morning. Not sure how much will make it to the plant, but we'll see. :fl I'll make some spray this weekend just for good measure. So, people have been talking about how great this...
@Beekissed, I water my garden in the morning (although thanks to the Lord and some mulch my chickens help me make I have only had to water it twice this whole year) so that'll be perfect! Thanks for the idea.:celebrate
I have heard good things about it, and even bought some for my garden this year.... put it up and forgot I had it come planting time. :barnie I'm guessing I will copy @Beekissed and spray it on my plants. Hopefully that will help some at least....
Our tomatoes are struggling, along with all of our other plants/trees. We are in southern Oklahoma and have been needing rain for quite a few years. My area received over 20 inches of rain in the month of May. Definitely could've used that over the course of a few months instead of all at one...
Awww.... thanks everyone! :love I celebrated the big 3-0 with a new dishwasher! My DH got it for me. We've never had one, so I'm still learning how to use it. We also played outside, went to the lake/park, tried to play in the garden but it's a complete mess from all the (heaven sent, no...
