    The beds are raised with wood frame. If anything it drys out fast. The soil is 1/4 sand. Very good drainage. I will try some more fertilizer. The bed next to it is also bean and they are doing well. They were planted about three weeks earlier and are already getting tall.

    Ya, our night time temps are around 55-60. Too cold for the eggo's? Highs from 70-85. What do the boy flowers look like? I can tell the diff in squash blossoms but have not been able to see the diff in the eggplants.

    What is a steam canner? I started using my old fashioned water bath canner on my new smooth top. I very carefully lift it on so there is no scraping on the glass. Has done very well. I would not use a pressure canner though.
