    Topsey Turvey!!

I have no pictures today, but i do have some words! LoL Both plants have grown considerably and about 3 days ago reach the stage in development where new growth begins to sprout from the nodes. I was happy to see this as it is a corner stone in the maturity of the plant. next comes flowers...

    Rabbit Poo

well after i went to the man who sold me the first two rabbits and told him the doe died during labor, he agreed to sell me a doe with 5 babies. i didn't think this was the best of ideas but he really didnt want to part with any of them, so there was no room to be choosey. So now there is the...

    Bell Pepper Issues

I caged it and build a mound around the bottom for stability, the rain and wind of the last two days made it imperative to take action without delay. This is my first time growing large variety peppers. My lil hot peppers don't have these issues, so I'm operating on 1 part instinct 2 parts...

    Rabbit Poo

and i'm off into the world of vermicompost! LoL thanks for the additional tip. i dunno about buying or importing worms, I'm not in terrible need of insects that feast on rotting materials, so maybe I'll just rake some leaves and turn up some dirt and just see what i can do with whats down...

    Bell Pepper Issues

too much vertical growth too soon was making the plant lean over some, so i clipped away some of the newer leaf and flower growth, leaving 4 flower buds, 1 open flower, and one developing pepper, and all the old leaves and a few of the newer ones.

    Topsey Turvey!!

this is my first go. i dont know what difficulties i will face. Not enough soil is one of the problems that i find likely. i guess regular use of chemical fertilizers would be one remedy for such an issue. Maybe i would have been better off planting only one tomato plant in a single hole on the...

    Rabbit Poo

my cukes are almost of age for transplant, when i find a suitable location i will use what I have collected this far to amend the soil. Almost a pound of poo at this point. I'm raising the rabbits for meat, and have just gotten off to an unfortunate start, so there will be no shortage of rabbit...

    Topsey Turvey!!

excuse the mess. thats my work table(stack of defunct sliding closet doors) and i like it messy. those are my cukes in the background. they are nearing transplant age rapidly. I will hang it by the handle in a sunny spot once I am confident that the roots have taken well and...

    Best Tomato Stake?

rebar is what I'm using. but I only had a few lengths of rebar lyin around, so I made some stakes out of a tree that was chopped recently. they wont be around next season but they're doing the job now. i also used some of the poles from a broken down walmart screen house, some of them are like...

    Topsey Turvey!!

I just butchered a plastic gallon container. the sort you usually find milk in at the grocery store or maybe the gas station. I dunno if it will have enough space for two plants to grow all the roots they need to mature, but we'll find out. I cut off the top in such a way to widen the hole so...

    Rabbit Poo

I got rabbits!! one died giving birth so now i have rabbit! Stupid me, i brought a pregnant rabbit here without knowing anything at all about keeping rabbits. probably the worst of my animal husbandry blunders. i'm still quite upset, but thats not what this is about! i have heard that i can...

    Topsey Turvey!!

I use a lot of different forums, and some times forum admin and mods can be real NAZIs about threads on duplicate topics. Appologism has become a knee jerk reaction.

I've only really grown one sort of tomato ever, the beefsteak. I'm interested in a few varieties, but have resolved to grow what seeds i can find locally this season. next season, god willing, I'll send away for some of the heirlooms I've got my heart set on. these year I've managed to come...

    Topsey Turvey!!

I saw this contraption on the TV last week and have been thinking about it ever since. for those who have not encountered this thing, its like a bag with holes in it. Some of them have the holes on the side, and some have a hole on the bottom. there is some kinda containment barrier. i imagine...

    Bell Pepper Issues

the flower finally opened today, another flower should be opening by mid week, there are several more flowers coming about as well. The plant has grown about 30% since i made this thread. I still doubt it will be able to hold a large bell pepper, much less two, or several, but I'll look into...

    Egg plant recommendations?

I'm attempting some store bought seeds this year, a big very dark purple sorta fruit according to the packaging. I tried the same last year but well, i was green, my thumb was not. My chickens didnt help at all either. I'm having a lot more luck this year. Even planting certain things directly...
