The Orchard Mason Bee The Life History-Biology-Propagation and use of a truly belevolent and Beneficial Insect
by Brian L. Griffin
It is a small book about 70 pages long. Good luck in finding it or one like it!
Well, I yaked the three that had the thickest stems. I did pull up one that was too little and I snuck it right back into the ground, I hope it continues to grow. My stems are already falling over, and if they are like onions, that is a sign that they are about ready.
Yummy HiDelight!
I was raised on mustgo soup my whole life. "Mom, what is for dinner?" "Soup." "What kind?" "GOOD soup."
Well, I made some "Good Soup" yesterday...or as we sometimes call it everything but the kitchen sink soup.
Left over chicken and homemade chicken broth, 3 itty bitty...
Well, :ya
I just yanked 3 huge garlic "heads" out of the ground!!! I can't believe it! My first time to grow it.
I thought it was an onion, it was so big and well, round. But I can feel individual cloves inside the skin...so I know it is garlic.
So I suppose it works! (Don't tell...
As I have stated before, this is the first year that I have a "big girl" garden. So I am still learning from newbie mistakes. It doesn't help that I just moved up here from TX. New climate, new things to grow for the first time.
Well, I threw some garlic in the soil in the spring this year...
Tonite its peas! I gotta shell them right now! We are still working on the salad too, tons of lettuce and peas right now.
(I am going to have a party when my tomatoes are ripe...it will probably be in December with the rate I'm going.)
That is good to know about the chanterelles, b/c I have them here. Now I won't be afraid to eat them. I'm staying away from anything that looks like a morel!!
:lau Turely don't wanna die here! Nor do I care to get so sick that I wanna die!! :sick
Thanks for those book titles!
We do have fungus among us in this neck of the woods. :gig
The other mushroom that was guarnteed to grow on our property is Chanterelle. (I couldn't think of that one...
Hi Bills,
They do have groups that do this in the month of October down here. I'm near Seattle.
I agree, books are 2d, I need 3d to tell a poisonous shroom from an edible. I'm scared to take a chance!
Yep. Try a small batch first.
My mom runs an Antique show in TX and the farmer who does the "farmer's market" for her dries it and it sells like hot cakes. You literally have to be first in line, or it is all gone. He stores it in ball canning jars.
