I need to mulch the leaves of four large oak trees every fall. This is a tree-mendous job. I HATE bagging the leaves and putting them on the curb, but you can't compost or mulch with oak leaves unless they are shredded. Can anyone recommend a good shredder/mulcher?
I had decided to tolerate the feral cats around here to keep the mouse population that lives in the garage down. But hookworms that penetrate human skin!?!? EEEEEWWWWWW!

Hi Cassandra. My neighbor used to grow eggplant and she insisted that the plants would not produce any fruit unless you left the plants alone (meaning no brushing against them, or bumping them or anything like that). I personally have never grown them. Good luck.
Sounds like cicadas to me. I think this is the year of emergence of the 17 year cicadas (according to a report I heard recently on the radio). Or is it too early for cicadas?
Also, everytime we visit family in West Virginia, my dh thinks I am crazy because I want to go to the bait shop and buy nightcrawlers and bring them back to New York for my compost piles! I must make sure I do this next time we go. I just have the regular worms. I want the super giant ones!
