From the website: So, as I understand it, it's self-powered. It's from Harbor Freight so I had my doubts, but from the reviews most who purchased one are happy. You can read the reviews for yourself by clicking here.

My Fig Tree, So Far - So Good

TROUBLE! :hit Right after I posted my picture we experienced a cold-snap. The temps dropped to freezing and all of the little green buds withered. I continued to keep it moist, but now I have some nice, healthy, green shoots coming up from ground level. The branches on the rest of the tree are...

I Need To Move To Wisconsin...

Because, apparently cranberry bogs don't do well here in Texas. :( I have this great recipe that everyone loves for Cranberry-Nut Bread. We have the Pecans, but the cranberries are expensive and hard to come by.

    Using plastic on your beds

I don't like plastic on my bed. It's cold in the winter, and in the summer it makes me sweaty and my skin sticks to it. I know it protects the mattress and is sanitary, but it's not comfortable to sleep on. Sorry, couldn't resist. Carry on. :gig

What Does "Gardening With Animals" Mean?

Here in Texas we have a saying, "If y'all wanna find oil ya gotta go where the oil is." If you need advice about raising chickens I can hardily recommend BYC. Other animals? Try Back Yard Herds. For gardening advice you can't go wrong right where you are. :) It's a joke, okay?

Or at least that's what the Chamber of Commerce would like the rest of us to think. I've been to S.f. Cold and fog so thick that I couldn't see my hand in front of my face.
