They are not climbers. They are multi-stemmed, and can get 15 inches to over 5 ft tall, depending on the variety. I forget, do you remember what varieties you have? My absolute favorite is the standard Night Blooming Tobacco - Nicotiana Alata http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/76795-product.html...
I was curious if anyone here plants "Moongardens", you know, gardens that release their fragrance at night, and plants whose blooms show up best at night.
I plant regular white moonflowers on my arbor, I used to have pink moonflowers, but have lost them. I have Datura and Brugmansia also. I...
ah-HA! Finally found my book...and I did mess up! :he It's potatoes and onions, not potatoes and beans! LOL! That's what I get for going from memory! LOL! I've never planted potatoes, I'll probably try this year. I knew it was one of the foods that I cook with potatoes that don't mix...
Potatoes and beans are a huge no-no. Tomatoes, peppers, basil, okra, all the "salsa and gumbo" veggies go together. Beans and corn are ok together. You grow the pole beans up the corn. ;)
I'll get my book out and make up a list for more common ones. I've got to get the kids to school, so...
I just googled "Honey crisp apple pollinator" and these are a few of the responses I got...

Actually, there is a really great book called "Carrots Love Tomatoes" by Louise Riotte that tells about companion planting. Certain plants do affect other plants they are planted by, both for the bad, and the good. I learned a lot by reading that book. I use it every year, and I am going to...
Would any Okies or close neighbors be interested in doing a spring plant swap? It's getting close to time to start working out our beds, and moving things around. I am in the Tulsa/Bixby area, and would not mind hosting if there is enough interest.
What do y'all say?? I think it would be a...
First off... :welcome I just ordered seeds from Baker Creek Heirlooms. I ordered Atomic Red, Cosmic Purple, and then a mix of rainbow seeds that have yellows and whites in there, as well. Our soil is kind of thick, but they seem to do well here. This is my first year for trying the heirloom...
Rosalind...How do you like the fish peppers? This will be my first year with them, so I am curious. We do a lot of gumbo and chili, so I thought they would be good for that. I haven't heard of the Ring-Of-Fire cayenne...is it as hot as it sounds?? :love
Don't you love Richter's?? Are you...
This is a pink/purple moon flower. I had seeds years ago and lost them in the move. It gets as big, or bigger than the regular white moonflower, but not as fragrant.
Here is a link to a pic...I hope it's ok to post it:

I picked up a few more things, yesterday!
Our local garden center has a limited selection of Baker Creek Seeds, so I got a pack of the mixed rainbow carrots. I also picked up a pack of Emerald Artichokes. The rest were flowers! :throw
I got:
Stock
Cup and Saucer Vines
Sensation picotee...

Well, I love the oriental lily, I gotta have fragrance! LOL! The rest is pretty much what everyone else has...zinnias, calla lilies, roses, cosmos, daisies, yarrow, lavender, verbena, irises, gladiolus, etc.
I do put in quince and forsythia, too. I use hostas and elephant ears for greenery...
Here are a few things I've heard of. I have dogs, so I don't have that problem. My cat stays out of my garden, except where I have planted his catnip. :clap
I have heard:
Mustard (the powder kind, but you have to keep applying it)
Marigolds (they are pungent like the mustard)
Cayenne...
Either the mythical zone or some odd hybrid, I'm betting.
Sounds like you garden like I do, a little bit here, a little bit there, tossing seeds as we go! :throw LOL!
Shelly
Here are the seeds I have ordered from Bakers. There are a few I am getting locally and then most of the tomatoes and peppers I always buy in plants from a local grower that specializes in heirlooms.
1-Dishcloth or Luffa gourd
1 - Precoce d'Argenteuil white with rose bud asparagus
1 - Giant...
Thanks for the reply! I think as long as it doesn't taste totally disgusting, they will love it! What do the flowers look like? I might grow it around the pool. Do you remember the color? Hopefully purple! LOL!
As far as your luffa gourd question, they are really easy to grow from seeds...
