Hey Whitewater- I re-dug my pond about 8 times in total and then this Fall I redid it again  . I put up some pics of the different steps that I went through here
but there were a lot more changes that I was just to ashamed to put up! After a while it felt a little silly.
I started...
Quick update on the garden. These pictures were taken a couple weeks ago from my back deck. Some of the snow has melted now, but not a lot.
Nice Sunday drive in the country.
Here are a couple links to info about row covers.
This one gives examples of fabric and other ideas for row covers.
This next one is about using captive bees to pollinate under row covers LOL
Aww how frustrating! :hugs
What you are seeing is called damping off. Here are a couple links that might help
I have a powder that I mix with water and lightly spray on my soil when the seeds start to sprout. I got the powder from my parents, so I don't know what it is. I'll check when...
I'm planting some pepper and eggplant seed today!
It's still a looooong way off for our spring. Last year we had 6 inches on March 31st and that's not unusual. There are still at least 3 feet of snow covering my garden. *sigh*
I like Copra. I'm growing 2x as many this year and also trying some Candy.
Last year I didn't plant enough onions, so I ended up buying some at the farmer's market. They were Candy and I was really impressed. In fact I still have some of both Copra and Candy to use. They are still good after...
Hi there :frow
I would suggest some short season tomatoes. Under 80 days. That way you will get some fruit! And maybe buy started tomatoes - that will take the stress out of starting them.
Do you have other veggies you want to grow?
Raised beds?
And how big (in feet) is your garden?
If you are using lights, bring the lights down closer to your plants.
The lights should only ever be an inch or maybe two inches above your soil when the seeds are sprouting. After they sprout wait until they grow up to the light, move them 1/2 inch, let them grow up to the light, move the...
Here are a few
Spindle fence
Bed frame fence
Branch fence
Another bed frame fence
Old arbor fence - bear proof!
I think the spindle fence is so cute! And it would keep chickens out too.....maybe. ;)
I made one last year and used it as a grave marker for one of my hen's grave.
There's a pic of it here
I didn't make a bath, but instead made it like a stepping stone. If that makes sense......
I grew it the last two years - but not this year!
It's too much work to keep the bugs out of them and catch the heads before they turn mealy.
Good luck! I don't know if you have a lot of trouble with cabbage loupers, ect. but I would invest in a floating cover for your cauliflower.
