Well, not planting today, but I have my gardening blog going and have my extensive wishlist there! :tools
Keep in mind that I have like .4 acres in town :gig

If ya play with the category links on the right, it'll take you to my posts by type...
I know Sand Hill has the golden bantam ... but it hasn't made my short list ... because I picked out really short maturity varieties, but I'll take a second look at it.
I'm moving the sibe this spring and planting the garden right beside his toilet area (not in it though).
Maybe I'll let him go around the garden plot after it's tilled!
Well, I might just leave the manure at the barn and let my trainer use it in the pasture like she does.
I plan on using black plastic as a "mulch" Will that decrease the chances of weeds germinating, if I leave it there to "bake" the soil before I plant anything?
thanks Pat ... its a chronic thing and its right off the patio block -- I guess if I follow the dogs out and "kick" the offender in the butt to make her go out further in the yard ... sometimes that doesn't work though :D
I will give it a good raking this spring, lime it and reseed then. Any...
Thanks!
Just FYI - Sand Hill Preservation Center has lots to open-pollinated heirloom stuff too!
I don't know if they have Triple Play though - I'll check!
lol ... spearmint! Not really - but my bed with my rose in it has a rose, a few columbine, a few iris, a few daffodils and a S(*^load of mint. And I knew better when I planted it!
Anyone near West Virginia need some spearmint? Only plant it in a raised bed by itself and kill all the runners...
I'm going to get at least a bin to help contain the new pile this summer.
I haven't been real technical with it yet, so I have no idea what temps it gets too.
Maybe I should be more technical about it this summer with the new bin!
My father and I are going to try open-pollinated heirloom corn this spring. We're both trying to get as much open-pollinated heirloom plants in our gardens as we can this year. Anyone have suggestions on varieties to get for zone 5B-6A, Growing season: May to late Oct, late frosts are common...
Are there any crops that you shouldn't use pine needles as mulch with?
My father has 7-9 pine trees, so I've definitely got access to the pine needles, unless he uses them all for his garden once I give him this idea!
hmmm...I might have to go to the local coffee shop and ask for their used grounds :)
I have grass clippings that we raked up (we often let the grass grow to 8 inches much to the chagrin of the city and the neighbors!) that we just put in a pile under an old fiberglass shell of something (I have...
I want to grow a few sweet potatoes this year. I found Sand Hill Preservation Center which has like 60 varieties, so I know where to get them.
Now how do I grow them????!!!????
