What are You Eating from the Garden?

We had sauteed asparagus and elephant garlic scapes tonight. We never had scapes before. I tried them raw and they were a bit spicy. But man, after sauteeing, they were good!

This is true. Which is why a lot of seniors still work. Lots of seniors work at fast food restaurants. I'm sure it's not because they enjoy it. But then again, maybe they do? Also, don't forget housewives. Lots of seniors were housewives for most of their lives so don't get much of a check at...

Don't know if I could eat horse. I've been horse crazy for as long as I can remember. It would be mighty hard to eat one. Not saying that I wouldn't, just hope I never have to go there.

Thing is, if you wait until your out, you might be up a creek. I haven't had to go anywhere yet. It's been a little over 4 weeks. We'll need to make a run to Lowe's this weekend though. The doodad that you pull to turn on the shower broke over the weekend. Using pliers right now to get it to work.

Sorry your donkey didn't work out Bee. It was a good idea, just the wrong donkey. I wonder if she had ever been used as a guard donkey? If your still wanting to use a donkey. maybe look for one that has been raised with sheep or is/has guarded them before. It's just like getting a LGD. Either...

Whoa people! It's not like Bee is new to homesteading and is wading in with her eyes closed. She's got a problem and is trying to fix it. I'm sure she is tougher & knows more about homesteading than all of us put together. She was raised on a homestead, in fact, the one she is on now I believe...

    Baymule’s 2020 Garden

I have to agree with ya there Bay. Takes a whole lot a land out there to support grazing animals. An acre of land don't have much. Just dust. On the plus side, you have a lot less humidity!

West Texas, it's a WHOLE 'nother country! I was a kid when we moved from there, but I remember the dust storms, storm shelters (for tornadoes), dust storms, flat with NO trees, dust storms, it does snow in the winter and did I mention dust storms? All that black dirt coating everything! You...

The corona virus is bad, I agree. Specially for those of us who are older, with underlying health problems or compromised immune systems. Do I believe the govt. is telling us the truth about it all? Not in a million years.

It's always something, isn't it Bee? I like your donkey. I hope she works out well for you. You got a new lamb? Congrats! A lot of people around here use donkeys for their sheep/goats/cows. As long as they have a SINGLE donkey in with the herd, it works out pretty good. When you start adding...
