Shame it's not a ewe. Sure would have been a pretty one!
Still planning on coming up to get some meat. Just don't know when yet. I did pick up some regular ground lamb at the store the other day. DH really liked it. I thought it was nasty. It had a really strong smell, and left an oily residue...
I think 99% of medications causes diarrhea, constipation or both. Just lovely.
Sorry you're going through this. I had it a couple years ago and ended up in the ER it was so bad. Usually when I feel nauseous, if I'll go ahead and throw up I'll feel better. Not with vertigo. You're still trying...
I have weed cloth, but I use it as a shade cloth for my chicken run. :idunno
I would try the black plastic to help get rid of the weeds. Run some irrigation under and plant through the plastic. Or, try a small section with the black plastic and another section with the weed cloth and see which...
I might have been born in the dark, but wasn't last night. :) I had no plans what so ever of purchasing an animal to raise for meat without knowing if I liked it or not. But thanks for reminding me to look before I sheep, uh I mean leap. Oh, deer meat is one of our favorites. YUM! Alligator is...
@Beekissed - Your new garden plans sound wonderful! I can just imagine all the pollinators that will be coming in to enjoy your flowers. How are your sheep doing & your new dog?
@Prairie Rose - There is a guy on youtube that had the same trouble you did with herbicide in his mulch. He planted...
That is what I used to do, run the mower over them. With the mulcher, they go straight in a trash bag and I can store them or pour them out on the garden or compost pile.
If I had a bagger on my mower, I wouldn't have the mulcher. Mow/bag all at once.
I don't use anything on my onions, but I do blanch them. It helps them rehydrate faster & it helps them dehydrate faster. I usually do about 9lbs to fill my trays on my dehydrator. I put them on in the afternoon, they are usually done by morning. I have an the dehydrator that has NO temp gauge...
My shredder is just for leaves and such. No blades, just uses weed eater thread. The one I have is The Worx. I got it at Walmart for $125. Looks like it cost a bit more now.

Easy to use. We do try to keep the twigs/sticks out...
Be sure and check you hay suppliers. There is a broad leaf herbicide called Grazon that is sprayed on hay meadows to kill all the weeds. The horses/cows/sheep/goats eat it, grass or hay, the herbicide passes through them in the manure. Even after the manure is composted, the herbicide is still...
Ran across a good buy on potatoes. I got 100 lbs and put 80 lbs into quart jars. Thinking about getting another 100 lbs to put up after Thanksgiving.
I wish the sale would happen a little earlier or else after Thanksgiving.
Potatoes. In the last 2 days, I've put up 42 qts of potatoes, which was 80 lbs. Thinking about putting up another 80 lbs after Thanksgiving.
@Crazy Gardner - Your pantry looks good!!
@Beekissed - Too funny! Some days I feel like that chicken looks! To be honest, I wasn't the best at keeping up to date myself. I will try and do better this coming season. :)
@Cosmo spring garden - Thank you!
@baymule - Thank you! I don't know wither to stay warm or try to keep cool. Never a...
I planted my elephant garlic and the corms I saved from this years harvest today. Also planted some turnips, kale and purple sprouting broccoli. I should have gotten it all in last week, but was too busy helping Mom.
I got some canning done yesterday. Put up 4 qts of green beans and 10 qts of...
