It's a very pretty plant, but in a few months my eyes will itch until I want to dig them out with a spoon, all because that pretty plant wants to reproduce. But again, the goats love them, and they don't require any effort, so I'll let them stay...and break out the antihistamines. :)
Well, yes, of course I want him. He's a duck...:D
Now ask me if I can drive down to Austin to pick him up. I can't, really. My in-laws are here for a week and things are a bit (read VERY) chaotic right now. If you happen to be headed to Waco you can drop him off.
I tried that. Hubby (who will eat most anything) said it was awful. When I tried to pick one up it slipped right out of my fingers...like a wet bar of soap.
But it's gross! Is there a way to de-slime it? Hubby says I'm never allowed to compare food to cervical mucus ever again, even if it it is an appropriate comparison.
My EE roo is a very nice boy. I don't handle my chickens very much, so none of them are really "tame" but he is good to his girls and he's not aggressive with people at all. He did run towards me one time, I chased him down (in front of his girls), caught him, and hung him upside down for a...
I herd them back into the tractor. They stick together, so all I have to do is walk behind them. If I want them to move left I raise my right arm and if I want them to go right I raise my left arm. I have the tractor up against the house, so when they get cornered they run right in the open...
My bush beans are about done here too. I'm going to be pulling them this weekend and planting a second batch of beans. We can never have enough green beans around here.
Hubby got me more presents tonight! I now have 10 new Blue Ameraucana chicks and 6 new Black Copper Maran chicks! With the 4 Wheaten Maran chicks and the 1 BCM he got me last week I'm back up to 21 chicks.
Oh yeah, I have a couple of tomatoes leaning drunkenly out into the paths after that storm, but at least we got some rain out of it too. I'll put up with almost any weather if we can just stay out of drought this summer. Except tornadoes, I draw the line at tornadoes
I know what you mean about the grasshoppers! They are everywhere right now. And caterpillars have been a big problem for me too, they haven't touched the chard but every other green I had was wiped out. Then there are the hornworms, and the cucumber beetles, and the squash bugs... The bugs are...
Yes, attachments are absolutely necessary. We'll be getting the shredder tomorrow, which is good, because we really need to mow. Hubby is already searching craigslist for others. We really need a bucket too, so we can dig ourselves a duck pond. Oh, and a blade so I can just scrape the poison oak...
