Snakes remind me of mushrooms.
Only a few are easily and quickly identified by yours truly. Best course is avoidance.
Yes, patterns and colors can be attractive but, mostly, that means I should be able to keep an eye on them as we go our separate ways.

Neglecting most of the flowers in recent years, @peteyfoozer . The exceptions are sunflowers, zinnias and taller marigolds that can compete with the dahlias in the front yard. Yes, I wish that I had started some pansy and petunia seed in February ... buying the plants for some planters each year...
⬆️That was the 9th and the high temperature was 86⁰f (30⁰C) that afternoon. I ran ¾ of an inch of water through the sprinklers on the garden beds that day. It hit above 80f on the 10th and then the cooldown set in; we haven't made it to 70⁰f (21⁰C) since.
But, it has not been cold ... unless...
Happily, I returned to bed not having to face the day at 2AM and slept for another hour and a half. Dreaming, I was with a large crowd of people moving down a sidewalk. We are moving very slowly. A tall blonde guy begins to make small talk and we chat about inconsequential things for a minute...

I saw my first Swallowtail butterfly yesterday.
My reading this morning was about "Ice Crawler" bugs ... that picture lifted and warmed the images...

A hybrid variety of Sweet Basil that has a resistance to fungal diseases.
Siam Queen for noodles
Cinnamon Basil for some choice in what to use ;).

We are getting around to "April showers," which means I don't need to be very concerned about cold and having tomatoes planted out and Mother Nature is aiding, altho not replacing, my irrigation efforts with a 1/4 - 1/3 inch of rain now and then.
