@aftermidnight Glad to hear your beans are doing well. Blue Jay is delicious, I ordered some seed for a Canadian friend's birthday and their whole family loved them and couldn't get enough.

I could certainly see it suiting both of those quite well. How big does Giant Red Tarka get for you?

@Bluejay77 Okay that seed is almost as old as me, it has held up quite well though. I'm surprised you don't run some sort of bean museum. I've got the darker Soldier bean and I've got Jacob's Cattle so I can try and do a cross this spring. Soldier is quite a huge seed but that cross is gigantic...

This would be one of the main two reasons I do not touch products containing canola and also the fact most here is now gm or gm contaminated.

    Bean coloration

Apologies for the possible confusion, I'd just forgot I'd sown it this growing season and had packed it away and forgot about it which sounds terrible now that I think about it. It actually came to me via another collector who likely got it from the seed bank here. I'll grow it out again this...

I agree. I grow things I am not very fond of so that they stay in circulation for people who might want them but have yet to find them.

@Bluejay77 I have one named 'Whiskey' which looks exactly like Jacob's Cattle but holds the pattern in the heat. I found it cleaning seed and doing inspections on this last seasons seed a few days ago.

This last growing season I had some Magpie that were self sown but healthy so I left them and they matured during fall (they survived...

That is just so terrible I might have to invent a word for it! I feel awful knowing how much work it will be to replant all that.

Richmond River Green Apple, Crystal Apple and Lemon. The three apple cucumbers from down under, easily eaten out of hand and I've never had a bad Crystal or Green Apple and they are high yield and great for people who can't usually eat cucumbers due to bitterness or digestion issues. Crystal...

What Are You Planting Today, This Week, This Month?

I can feel it, the days aren't pleasant enough to go outside until after noon and then you only have a few hours of good light to get things done. What do you use your sunflowers for, seeds or aesthetics?

Well it depends what intentional or unintentional selection criteria the cultivar has gone through before you have obtained it. It could have deteriorated or even improved in some respect.
