DON'T feel guilty! I have days, especially in the winter, where the kids have school but I have the day off work and while I have a list of to-do's thats as tall as me, I get only dishes, vacuuming, MAYBE a load of laundry, and supper done and then I just veg out. Not every day needs to be...
I've got a super easy recipe that I found in an old church cookbook up on www.thehenway.com today :)
I was surprised, I had never heard of Rhubarb Coffee Cake before but its good!
Reb, for the last 3 years my tomatoes from seed were AMAZING and I didn't even have to make an effort. Threw some seed in pots, tossed them into the gardenw ith only a few days of hardening off, never a worry. This year its just crappy. The seedlings didnt get very big in the house and now...
Yes I was doing some of the rare kids, and those were the most fragile... maybe thats why they are rare. I'm so sad. But I'm not giving up, I refuse. and I hate the plants from the nursey, all you can get are early girl and better boy... not very exciting at all, so I will NOT allow myself to...
Most of the sunbruned ones were literally bruned to a crisp at the dirt... theo nes that are kind of still not totally dead I left, but still seeded more of the same variety next to them... I made sure everyone had a dose of epsom salts in their hole.

About 3 weeks ago I started hardening the seedlings off, letting them sit out in mostly shade during the day and going in the garage at night. Then, about a week ago, Dh was helping (helping....) and...

Well, DH did. He makes it look so easy I thought I'd give it a try. That thing tossed me all over like a rag doll.

Yay for Spring!
I lived in Rock Springs WY for 8 years and it wasnt that bad there, but we were on the edge of the Red Desert... :) Its nowhere NEAR as bad as Minnesota...
I love it!
I'm going to grow nasturtiums from seed this year for salads and jellies. I'm excited!
The lettuce will be in a broken wheelbarrow out my back door :)
My 7yo asked for his own garden this year so I let him choose 5 things to plant.
He wants:
Corn
Carrots
Potatoes
Tomatoes
Onions
He had a longer list, but there were a few more work-intensive items on his list that I ixnayed because I want this to be all his work.
Sounds easy enough to me! He...
