    Sugar free recipes to share?

Ooooh, thanks Tutter! I'm printing this to hang in the kitchen. I especially like the fried banana thing and the dates and the fruit bars if I can find them. Your bread recipe sounds alot like mine. Good idea about adding more fruit.

    Sugar free recipes to share?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. You know how every once in a while you get a craving for something sweet? Sometimes a piece of fruit just won't cut it. We would like any dessert or bread recipies. I've never made sugar free jam or jellies before. Is the taste worth the effort?

    HELP with freezer tips

No, it is never mushy. It's just like fresh boiled corn. When I cook the ears after they've been frozen, (I don't thaw it, I just put the frozen ears in the pot) I just boil them for about 15 min. For the cut off corn, I just place the frozen corn in the microwave for about 10 minutes, add...

    Does anyone here grow Stevia?

I'm thinking about growing Stevia in my garden next year. Do you already grow it and if you do, how do you process it?

    HELP with freezer tips

What a great haul! :ep The only thing that I regularly freeze on your list is corn. I put up 40 dozen just Friday. This is how I do it: Bring corn to a boil and boil for 20 minutes. Cut off and place in freezer bags or bag whole ears. Let cool and pack in freezer. Simple and easy and tastes...

What did you can (freeze, dehydrate, preserve) today?

Tonight was the last night for the icicle We ended up with 20 quarts and some left over pickling juice. So, I went up to the garden, grabbed some jalepenos and cayennes. I packed 2 jars of each and poured the rest of the juice over them. We'll see how that turns out. Oh, and 3 more quarts of...

What did you can (freeze, dehydrate, preserve) today?

I noticed that, too. The way I did it (adding tomato sauce), I think it made about 10 pints. We have about 7 pints left ater giving some away and eating some.

    Feeding veggies

I use Osmocote only on my flowers and shrubs. It is a time release fertilizer that feeds up to 3 months. It does give great results without constant reapplying. For my garden and the vegetable plants that I sell, I only use organic products (fish emulsion, compost & next year, worm castings)

    Seed Catalogues

I like Seed Savers Exchage & Johnny's and Bountiful Gardens. I have also ordered from Parks and Burpees, even though they are a bit pricier.

What did you can (freeze, dehydrate, preserve) today?

Hey Dace! Go here for the zucchini salsa recipe: www.thatsmyhome.com/general/zucchini-salsa.htm The only thing I did differently was to add two 15 oz. cans of tomato sauce. It just did not have enough liquid in it for me. It is really good. In 2 days my husband and I have already eaten 2...

Has anyone used their greenhouse in the summer to dry/dehydrate foods?

Just something I was curious about. My greenhouse is wide open with no fans since there is nothing in there right now. The temps regularly get 120+ degrees. With all that heat and sunshine, could food be dried in it? Let me hear all your opinions :rainbow-sun

Tutter, I would love to share. I found this recipe on Razzle Dazzle Recipe's website. However, I did modify it a bit for my preferences. FREEZER TOMATO SAUCE 20 tomatoes, washed, cored, cut in chunks. Place in large kettle with: 4 onions, chopped (4 cups) 4 large carrots, pared and shredded...
