After a lot of research this week, I ordered my seed collection for the 2011 growing year. I found a website for my state that has lots of information about the different variety of plants that do good in my region. After arming myself with this information, I sat down this morning and poured...
Well if I so, I'll sign up. I've spent the entire day researching what varieties I'm going to plant this year. I found a website for my state about which varieties grow best here as well as how much of what to plant for each person , when to plant, etc etc etc. After printing all that out, I...
Speaking from experience, they will setlle down in a few days and start to "feel" each other out. I introduced a new rooster last year and had to keep him away from my other rooster for over 2 weeks. They will learn to get along. It will just take some time.

I can't wait for next month. My local hatchery will start hatching. I told DH that I intend to get some more EE's. They are the best chickens.

I have new bushes spring up all over the place in the springs. My big bush puts out seeds that I never collect and they fly in the wind to other areas of my yard and start to grow. I've never tried to collect a cutting and root it before.
My mother's yard used to be covered with them. I had some of her seeds but I never got around to planting them. I'll see if she has any left in her yard for seed collection and I'll let you know.
