Bee I must have missed your SS post. Never heard of this but can't wait to tell my DH this one. He is gonna love it.
I will never again fuss at the dog for going straight to the compost pile. LOL
1st it was NAIS (being voted on tomorrow - March 20th). Then it was the rush through bill for lead content that had everyone scared to death and basically put all the small business people sewing clothes for children, not to mentiong the little grandpaw at the flea market who sells wooden toys...
Just thought you would like to know.
My strawberries from Gurney's arrived 2 weeks ago and are doing great. Only lost one plant. My bundle of 25 Everbearing contained about 28 plants so I am still ahead.
On a side note: My husband was also thrilled about building another bed for me...
well that explains why I have never had a cross pollination problem. LOL Guess in all my checking to see how far plants need to planted apart to avoid it, I should have checked 1st to see if it was even possible between those particular plants.
Thanks kellygirrl
I have done a little leg work this morning checking on the cross pollination issues. Everything I read says 1000 ft to 1/4 mile apart.
I use my loofas for my own personal use and give them to anyone who wants one. Most just look good hanging on the vine and go to the garbage before the seed...
smom1976 - do an internet search for loofa soap. There are tons of instructions out there for different processes. Most of what I have looked at have been melt and pour but there are probably some cold process instructions as well.
Watch those seeds close. They will probably sprout quicker than that. As soon as they break ground be sure to give them air or they will get leggy and/or mold. Both of which can kill them.
Picture the sad face of someone who used that method for the first time and killed all her seedlings...
Are you talking about a cold frame? If so here is some info on how to build one.

Edited to add link. And correct spelling.
Cheryl, We have had loofa for years - so many years in fact that they pop up all over our yard. For the last several years we have let them grow about 20 ft from our squash, cucumbers and zucks. Never had a problem with cross pollination at that distance. I have no clue what the professional...
I have never grown that particular varitity but I just shell, and freeze my peas and beans. I do vaccum seal them though. I wash them before I use them but not before I freeze them. On the rare occasion I do wash before freezing I make sure that I get as much water as I can off of them...
:weee
Know you will be glad to get back.
And if you don't find any garlic let me know. I have 4 whole bulbs that I did not plant. Plus I have some more ordered that should be here around March 8th. No way I can plant or use all that. I will be more than happy to send you some. NO CHARGE...
I am as ready as I will ever be. I have all my seed here or on the way, well all my seed unless I decided at the last minute to plant something else. LOL And that is a very real possibility knowing me.
DH started breaking up the garden a few weeks ago. This is a new garden spot so lots of...
I am really happy to have it in the ground. Now, keeping my fingers crossed that it will come up. Guess I will know then. I don't know if this is hardneck or softneck but at least its garlic in the ground.
Hope your tomato seeds are good. When will you be home?
