Should I let the chickens in?

Are there any plants that I need to worry about being toxic to the chickens and the ducks. Like tomato vines? I have a 2500 sq ft garden and 19 chickens and 4 ducks that I will be turning loose in the next 4 to 6 weeks. It was my plan to let them have the garden until the end of march when I...

    Why do you grow pumpkins?

I make pumpkin butter and it is soooo good. Sometimes I will then mix it with cream cheese to make a spread for my bagels. When I gave a jar to a friend she started mixing it in her oatmeal. I haven't tried it but she said it was amazingly good and tasted like fall. What we don't eat I leave...

Everything on your Etsy page looks fabulous. I think I will have to try a few types of biscotti and maybe some cherry or bluberry jam.

What kind of pepper do I have?

They are just staying green so far. Also the pic on the plant tag from the store shows them green. I had a friend tell me they were probably anehiem (sp?) chili peppers. I love the pics of Ron's red chili peppers - can I use some green and dry the rest after they go red at the end of the summer?

Moving Fruit Trees in Hot Weather

I asked him to bring the root ball. It was a partial root ball really - maybe just 1/3 the soil it should have had. He did wrap it in wet towels for the drive over. I doubt he will do any thing different with the cherry tree. He says it is at least twice the size of the nectarine. He didn't...

Moving Fruit Trees in Hot Weather

I have a friend who is losing his house in a bankruptcy. No one is living there and nothing is being watered. He showed up at my place today with a 3 year old necatrine tree he dug up for me to transplant. I know this is the wrong time of year to do this. Any thoughts on if the trees will...
