Will be trying something a little different this year with the garden. I'm expanding the garden but planting less veggies than previous years...going to take a little break off planting too much, as my stored canned goods are full and no room for anymore right now.
Will be frost seeding a...
Sheep are preggers and fat as ticks, eating their way through all the hay stores....had to get three round bales today, but found a wonderful source at a great price, so it's all good.
Blue has been making great progress on and off leash, heels better than any dog I've ever had, and is...
Rain...and rain and more rain. The bright side of all of that is that it forces me to attend to things in the house and it's also sounding wonderful on the tin roof! Also doing great things in the garden, compressing that thick layer of hay down to the soil and likely starting some very...
I sooooo agree with this!!!! I'm praying you had a wonderful day, Miss Carol Dee! I love that you were born into this world and that we get to fellowship with you here! :weee :love:hugs
I find it's more palatable to the earthworms and it doesn't seem to bind up nitrogen from the soil either....with the chips I had to add a great deal of high nitrogen litter the first year or so to get even growth.
That could have happened to ANY of us. I've taken so many chances on what I've hauled in here and put on my soils!!! The manure, the wood chips, the hay....all had that same potential to poison. Just the grace of God has prevented me from messing things up!
Now I'm doing hay instead of...
Everything I'll be planting will be taller than the rhubarb but not over shadowing it, as the trellis will be at the back of the bed. The rhubarb will be spaced far enough apart to allow for sunlight to the seedlings until they grow past the height of the rhubarb.
All the strawberries and...
This winter I hope to expand the garden area a bit to include two young apple trees, one of which is really healthy and the other not so much. I'll also be redoing the fencing around the garden....right now it's deer netting and rabbit fence combination, but I got some really cool 10 ft...
I can't imagine wanting to know that much about chocolate that I'd pay to park and pay to find it out. All I need to know about chocolate can be found inside a wrapper for around a $1. :D

Meissen figurine of 2 dogs, 3 1/2" by 2 3/4". This figurine is probably circa 1930. The tail on one dog is repaired. The other tail is missing. One ear is chipped. The color and shape of this figurine...
Good outcome on that correction. Aren't these 'Tolians intelligent dogs? Had a similar incident here today with Blue and my 1 yr old grandgirl. He knocked her over, got a correction and was respectful thereafter. He's not a real bouncy pup, so I was surprised he pounced on her but, man...
What a blessing to get to see that many eagles!!! I saw one this weekend on a trip to the mountains and find them to be distinctive among all birds....just the span of the wings, the way they fly and their regal manner all make my heart do a flip when I see one.
Yes! Every time I see an old truck or high priced item for the garden or patio, I always think, "Wouldn't NY have liked that?" And I want to post a link to it to tease him about it. 😆
Was thinking of NYboy and decided to start a thread like he used to do.....posting a CL link to a ridiculously high priced item he was contemplating buying. :D :love I miss him.
Garden table
No, I'm not buying this, but it just reminded me of him......seems like something he would have liked.
Some years back someone forced me to try a fried yellow squash and peanut butter sandwich and it was GOOD. That's about as strange as I get on sandwiches, though I can make a sandwich of about anything.
One thing we do differently than others with our grilled cheese sandwiches is to put...
Got one the same age here that is doing the exact same thing....something about that age where they want to get everything out of cabinets, drawers and shelves and then put stray, random items INTO the same places so you don't find them until you actually access that area.
She's also taken...
Besides breaking down huge skid pallets and replacing the floor on the back porch, mine will be cleaning and painting indoors. Again. Last winter was the same. Sure does feel good to roll into spring with things cleaned, organized and spruced up, though.
I give a resounding AMEN to this!!! Always hard to be standing in a room, pointing out the obvious and no one else can see it or wants to see it. I was that little kid who shouted, "But, mama, the king is naked!!!" Got in trouble for it a lot as a kid, still having trouble with it as an...
