trees died to ground, now returning; will they ever fruit?

Good luck with your trees, but you may have to start over and give them the sunniest and southernmost windows of your house. On the other hand, you may not need curtains, if you do this. Fortunately YOU don't have cats that attack and rip plants out of inside pots like they are at war...

    A Seed Saver's Garden

With my new knee and about to be new knee, I will be using HD knee pads. It doesn't hurt to kneel on the right knee, just feels WEIRD. DD has her knee pads from HS Volleyball and she still uses them for things like climbing in the bed of the truck to pack/unpack things, even though there is a...

2025 Little Easy Bean Network - Growers Of The Future Will Be Glad We Saved

We just got out of that heat advisory. Sorry that you have more to come! :hugs I wouldn't worry too much about the beans. I started My bean adventure planting for a Fall harvest and I was able to freeze and can quite a bit, with a shorter growing season than yours. If they don't like this...

    Ducks ALIVE in 2025!

The black iris IS gorgeous! The buds look black, then open to deep purple AND you can't kill it! I started with one, ended up with probably 100, just dug 2 clumps out this year, gave away all of one, gave away 7 of the other, and youngest DD wants the rest. Middle DD loves what I gave her, but...

I have 11 purple potatoes growing, too. They look like they are dying back, so they will be harvested soon. I will take pictures. Mine came up with purple leaves, but now they are all green.

What are You Eating from the Garden?

Last time I pickled beets I added too much vinegar. What's your recipe? And, is this for hot water bathing or for refrigerator pickling? Thx! Also, I have been asking about when to harvest my garlic. I took scapes from my Great Lakes porcelain garlic 2 weeks ago, scapes from my German Red...

Also, I am thinking of adding a flower bed in front of (to the south of) the rose bed. I have enough bricks to fence it in. Any thoughts?

    Ducks ALIVE in 2025!

Here are my 3 roses, with the cardboard and rest of the bed covered in grass clippings. Had to refill the tiller with gass. The first two roses were stunted having to compete with the now gone blackberry vines. I have business in town this morning, then back home to tilling and prepping beds...

    Coffee

Absolutely!! Coffee with yogurt this morning, watching DVR of the news and petting Lynx. For the newbies...this is Lynx, who told me her super secret name when she was a starving 3 week old kitten who didn't know any better.

    Ducks ALIVE in 2025!

I need to take a picture. 4 of the vines are drying out pretty well, the 5th is still green. I have paper lunch bags and I am thinking of picking and saving (labeling) in one of those and storing in a kitchen cabinet, to revisit them in a few months and try a fall planting. I think there are...

New mower AND God mower are now in use! Rain expected this week, a little today and Thursday, then it picks up on Friday. I have to go into the office to find a file for DH. I told middle DD, it's like when somebody asks where the cocktail sauce is in the fridge, and you give them SPECIFIC...

    Ducks ALIVE in 2025!

Thankfully, NO chipmunks! Probably bc of my cats, but Good to know! :hugs I only asked bc the Porcelain garlic will come due to harvest when I am recovering from my left knee surgery. NO amount of pleading will get my DD's to harvest them! When I told Eldest DD (Chef) about freezing the scapes...
