DD found two chicken breasts in her freezer with freezer burn. I took them, cooked them up in my 8 qt crock pot for Eva, left a few bits and today added powdered thyme, powdered onion, scraped up a carrot and added chopped celery. I should make some nice broth by Thursday.
Good deal! We are about to pay for our new beef, "Greenland," 963 pounds hanging weight, and our estimated price per pound is $6.40
It is Black Angus.
IF the person who backed out 4 years ago didn't buy it, when I met G., I could have had 1/4 cow, all hamburger, $2/lb
SO GOOD for you to have it...
I took a shot of my shelter halves and stopped by the tractor on my way back to the tent storage area of the Lodge. Soldiers would each carry 1/2 and then put them together for a 2 man tent that had a back and 2 pieces that connected in the front.
I think I finally have the Right set up for my tomatoes this year, albeit I will need to change out the LED flourescent unit. I have a new 2nd bulb, but the electrics on this won't light it up, so it only has one pink gro light. :(
ANYWAY, I have it on my top shelf, with a heat mat underneath...
And NOW for some Good news...
17 tomato seedlings up, and where I thought I had dried them out, 2 peppers have sprouted. Don't wanna move ANYTHING, so I'll have to get back to you on what varieties they all are.

Have you ever MADE mayo?!?!?
WE HAVE, and it is mostly oil. :sick
Please everyone, pray for my (GS) dog, Eva. We still don't know exactly what she has, but she has had 5 months of nasal discharge and many bloody noses. So far, tests are inconclusive. I am shopping for an affordable CT Scan--local University Vet School charges 2 arms and 1 leg--but I think I...
Here is yesterday's canning. This broth will be used for making Salesbury Steak, which Eldest DD (Chef) uses from premade hamburgers that have been marinated overnight along with onions and mushrooms, and some Worcestershire Sauce. I meant to can on Wednesday, so it went 6 days!
The box is...
The Stallions were for riding and battle.
The Mares were for driving.
A Great deal of their training was to get them to focus on the rider and not other "distractions."
Since it's late I will take a moment to indulge in a definition.
I don't actually Fold my tents into packages, I have over the years learned to fold a tent to a size where I can roll it up, tie it up, and tie on a strap to carry.
I first learned about neat and tidy camping from an older girl...
I took all the stuff off of the peach tree, the ragwool blanket, the wooden posts for support and the 2 shelter halves which remained buttoned together, Off of the peach, pulled the rebar pieces, cut off and picked up ALL of the baling twine and tossed that in the trash can.
I folded up the...
