I finally got the stairstep bed filled. I planted some squash (deeper than usual), peas, Brussels Sprouts and broccoli. I also planted some radishes in the small bed because my girls decided that I didn't plant my seeds right so they had to fix it for me 🤣🤣🤣
This is the pallet wood bed that my husband and I built over the weekend. It's probably my favorite raised bed yet. I'm trying to figure out a way of coloring it but I want it to be naturally colored and not just weathered. If anyone might have an idea of what I can do to give it some color...
This is the garlic that I sprouted in a jar of water. Of the about 12 or 13 cloves I got 10 to sprout. I planted them in my stairstep raised metal garden bed. I was actually happy with the results. I will keep everyone posted on the progress as well as the next head of garlic that I am currently...
I am going to try some different techniques for seed starting so this year I am going to keep everyone updated on what works best and if it's a total flop. I will do my best to take pictures to post and also identify the methods as well as the plants and basically the who, what, when, where, why...
I was unable to get the garlic planted yesterday do to the wind kicking up. Today I went out and planted the cloves. 10 cloves with green tops and the last one was 3/4 cloves but because only one had a green top I just planted it as is.
Right now I am pondering the idea of going out to the garden and planting in the rain. It's not like I can do much more than get the flu or a cold so I just might be uploading some pictures of the garden area today or tomorrow. I can put my 9 garlic cloves in the bottom of the big raised bed.
It's going to take more filler to get the big raised bed filled. It's a good thing I have plenty of paper and cardboard to shred. I also need to clean out the chickens bedding and also the rabbit so I should have more than enough for the garden. I started a head of garlic in a jar of water and...
I started filling my big raised bed up. I got the wood in it and I added some shredded paper. I have to finish filling it with soil tomorrow. If I don't get it done tomorrow then I'll have to wait until the weekend because we've got rain expected for the rest of the week.
I lived in a town where the closest neighbor was a mile away and the bus ride was 7 miles. The General store was also the Post office and the local saloon and no they didn't call it a bar. The principal taught the 8th graders. It was awesome
I remember my grandma taking me to Grand Auto and buying me a toy box for Christmas. I remember her taking me to Woolworths and getting me a sundae and I also remember going to Kmart and getting like 10 sandwiches for 2.00 or something like that and they put all the sandwiches in a plastic bag...
