Taking it slow—I want to embrace a slower life. The Amaryllis are in full splendor, a gentle reminder to live in the present.
The weather isn’t ideal, but after all, it’s still winter. I’ve been busy cleaning planters, trimming herbs (like sage, catnip, mint, and MUMs), and planting...
Another cold front arrived, so it's again cold and wet. I kept trimming and cleaning during rain pauses. Compared with previous years, I am much more relaxed as I don't have to worry about young seedlings in the greenhouse (as there is nothing yet).
Meanwhile, I am 'hunting' in my own garden...
Cleaning and trimming and filling containers~
Kwern is a very reliable partner to clean and remove weeds from such a paved ground. DH takes care of the basic cleaning, and I take care of the planting.
Time for a hair-cut!
Okay, 65% ready for re-opening on March 7 - And there will be a pop-up...
Thanks, I am totally newbie to Amaryllis but so pleased about receiving two very healthy bulbs. I believe I will pick another two to three varieties this autumn.
Do you know if they multiply like other bulbs?
Amaryllis 'Picotee' - also two flower stalks.
The flower is much smaller than 'Happy Nymph' and a bit shorter. It has also much less foliage at this moment.
I just wonder, to ensure Amaryllis can grow well and store as much energy as possible for future blooming, is it a practical way to...
Other tasks today, sanding the outdoor tables - they also looked sad after standing in front of the cafe whole winter.
After simple sanding, it already looked better.
Then, a layer of wood protection paint was applied.
I also made some vanilla syrup for the new drink - Vanilla Latte
Dark Ram...
Self-seeded pansies, time to relocate - those are the lovely variety that has pastel colors and ruffled petals. These young plants are already the 3rd generation from the original ones I grew from seeds. As the window sill planter isn't the ideal place for them, I dug them out and repotted them...
I kept cleaning up the perennial beds, one day one section
Making different bread with purple rice, as now I can grind whatever grain I want.
Japanese Milky Loaf and Sourdough Loaf (with olive, dried tomato, and cheddar cheese)
As the color from the purple rice won't fade under heat...
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me present you the fancy coffee I made today, double espresso with homemade vanilla cream.
Well, you are your own legacy. :love
Just saw this video, and yes, this is where I was from, Taiwan.
Visiting doctors here in Germany is also a pain in the ass, especially some will show very impatient faces when they realize you can not speak fluent German. It's very common to get an appointment after a few months, or you go to...
I had a very relaxed Saturday and did almost nothing, so during evening, I designed a funny 'tea map' for my cafe, which will re-open on March 7.
Compared with coffee, tea rarely received a proper preparation in German shops. Let's ignore specialized tea shops. Most of the time, when you spend...
It snows again, well, just mid Feb. However, the forecast shows 10C from coming Thursday, that's early.
Anyway, as schedule, my sowing will start tomorrow - the trays will stay indoor as the first batch seeds need no light to germinate. When it gets much warmer later this week, they can directly...
Did you have a fixed breakfast? I am more curious about this.
I can't have same or similar things every morning, just can't. So my FIL used to have a pot of warm herbal tea, and then mixed some jam in yogurt. He ate that everyday for more than 20 years - same blend of tea, same jam, same...
