I use something similar on the chickens. They pick red so changing the color to purple makes the wound no longer interesting.

Things are coming along in the garden. The pumpkin vine is absolutely ENORMOUS . I turned my back on it for a week and it crawled clean into my neighbors yard. I moved it back and apologized to the neighbor, but as a gardener herself she just laughed about it. Tomatoes are growing up a little...

Look at all the peas! This is the second picking and it's still flowering! Already used them in dinners and frozen some!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone! You all are so kind to me. I have beans and lettuce growing in my garden that are just beautiful! I can't wait to see how they taste. Garden is really growing well, I'll try to take pictures here soon so everyone can see.

I do the same for my dogs. I cook all their food and it's usually chicken because it's cheap. Broth is done when you can pinch a bone and it crumples under your finger tips.

I'm from Western Washington also! If you're interested in planting squash, pumpkin, cucumbers, etc. look for powdery mildew resistant varieties. It seems PM is awful in this part of the world, but using varieties resistant to it really helped me lick the problem!
