Let me try again...
Our atty friend is buying ME 2 female GS puppies.
Pictures WHEN I can find them--searched email, FB Messenger and texts, no luck! :hu
Yesterday, under DH's watchful eye so that I didn't fall, I transplanted 7 tomatoes and 5 peppers to my 100 gallon leaky Rubbermaid waterer, now a planter.
2 days ago I took the pile of dug up black iris--not the new ones that open black, but mine that open deep purple--cut them off to a 3 inch...
This has been a weird gardening year for Ducks and one where I have learned a LOT about how much abuse plants can take!
I "temporarily" transplanted both purchased tomatoes and peppers to planters, but they never made it into the ground. I don't Dare remove these from their planter--they roots...
I am posting today so that you know that I am healing well, no sepsis, established right after surgery that I still Had a left leg, else no xrays that I witnessed, AND I am doing better than my right knee recovery, 0 degrees straight and easily 95 degrees bent as of today.
I am still using my...
@Shades-of-Oregon, Dunno...either goldfish or mosquito fish.
THAT would be the Biggest problem for Eldest DD bc she is Such a softy--she would want to bring them inside during the winter.
I love the suggestion of one where the fish could hide. DD's cats are both inside cats, but there ARE other...
What a weird growing season for Ducks!!
All of the tomatoes that I planted along the three 6 ft fence lines have survived. DD's pulled my hoses to the drip hoses a few days after my July 10th surgery, but the tomatoes that I DID transplant don't look bad, green, not a lot of growing but some...
I was going to suggest starting with a whiskey barrel planter this year, and then considering putting in a small pond. A previous owner of their house was a rock hound and there are probably 30 large rocks that could be placed around it. I was thinking maybe some aquatic plants, maybe some...
At home physical therapist is a deer hunter.
We plan to do swapsies this Fall, deer meat for beef ribs.
He also owns a big smoker.
There are solutions to all problems.
at 9:11 you can hear the 5th movement, which is same music you might remember used in the movie, "Master and Commander," a few years ago, where the cellists and violinist strum like guitarists, a not so common compostion technique often used by IMHO music geniuses bored by the rest of the world...
Agreed! They had an ending, but it wasn't satisfactory. I think maybe the story line and characters were a little bit difficult to handle, like herding cats.
You are right, @SPedigrees , LOTS of good BBC episodes to watch. yesterday, I was dozing/watching the Great Performances, "Now Hear...
@Shades-of-Oregon , I inadvertently made compost tea in 2024 bc I left some straw out in a bucket. Although in 2026 I should be able to do a lot more and, yes, I could make manure tea, I noticed that in 2024 and this year, the compost tea really doesn't stink. I am don't concerned about...
@Dirtmechanic , I'm so excited for your new toy!!! :hugs
I ended up buying two self propelled push lawnmowers. Never thought I'd like them, but it makes the work SO much easier. But, to your point, you still have the work.
I now use my tow wagon to move things instead of lifting/carrying them...
Today I will be giving DH some older seeds to scatter in the south of the garage bed, since open soil is available for any and all seeds, and we'll see what takes.
So, apparently this is ANOTHER bad year for tomatoes. I am told that the ones I transplanted survived, but are not fruiting. I...
