I did this with Henry Field's which I think is the same as Gurney. I am waiting for my berries but it says they will ship next week. It's still too early here so I'm not paniky yet. lol
It's Penn State's Master Gardener class thru the county extension office.
Check with your extension office you probably have one avaiable to you. I think every state but Alaska has a Master Gardener class.
We are on week 3 and I am LOVING it! Once we're done we have to do 50 hours of volunteer...

According to Mel in Square Foot Gardening about anything can go up. Yo just need enough support. That's where the pantyhose and stuff comes in to play. You have to make slings to support the fruit.
Both types are perrenial but "short lived perrenial". Depends on type of plant, soil, care, etc. but most will last between 3 and 6 years.
June bearers bear once in June and Everbearing or Day Neutral types will usually produce 3 times per season but not nearly as many berries each time as June...

I will 2nd the vote for you to contact your local cooperative extension office. They will be involved with the local Master Gardener program and I am sure you can get a load of help from them.

There are over 400 species of lady bugs or ladybird beetles in north america. The asian's were released several timesin the US to control aphids in the tall trees that the native beetles didn't seem to help with. The first release was back in the early 1900's. They were never released to feed...
I think I'll try some melons and squash on my chain link. If it isn't high enough they should just run horizontally...I hope. lol
I did pole beans on my 4 ' chain link last year and they did fine.
At the same time I had the slimy green pond I owned a pet supply store that sold pond supplies including UV filters. lol
I'm just not willing to put that much effort into a swimming pool for my dogs!
