I'm hoping that my pumpkins ripen before it gets too cold. It's already getting cold at night so hopefully they will. I have a large pumpkin out there and it's still completely green.
I'm not really too good at baking but I intend to cool all of the pumpkins and any sweet squash I get and make some cookies and bread. I might try making a pie for the kids. I meant cook.
The biggest pumpkin that I picked yesterday and forgot to bring it in. The other one was weed whacked off the vine and I found it today trying to do a little more weeding.
Went out to feed the ducks and found a pumpkin that I forgot yesterday. I went and told the neighbor that her daughter can pick the pumpkin growing over the fence and she offered to trade me a butternut squash for the pumpkin. Works for me.
It's green not black but I couldn't see it when I picked it. If it's not ripe then the chickens can have it because I still have so many more in the garden.
I knew most of the answers but a couple of things got me. I know that talking to your plants is good for them because of the fact that they breathe in carbon monoxide and in exchange give oxygen.
I picked a little pumpkin today. When I say little it's been growing for about 2 months and probably doesn't even weigh 2 lbs. Might not even be a pound. It took it's time to ripen. I'm going to post a picture of it in a little bit.
My daughter in law might have a broken neck. She fell yesterday just before we got to her house and I figured she was going to have a serious black eye and the entire right side of her face would just be one really big bruise.
