I'm in MN in zone 4. I still haven't be able officially pick mine yet but they are ripening now, should be able to pick them tomorrow or thursday. That's awesome you are getting so many! Will your plants keep giving maters until it's gets cold there then?
I would totally bring you over a big basket if you were closer! I gone tomato obsessive and we have 14 plants that are all doing well! (the yellow pear is 4' already and we have another one -big boy maybe?- thats near 5') Next year you will have tons though! You can have tomato envy and...
I've been spending weeks now staring out my window while washing dishes looking at my 100 green tomatoes sitting on the vine praying they will start to ripen. It's been so bad I've been dreaming about eating tomatoes 20 different ways. (Part of this may be that I'm getting very pregnant and...
You put them in a paper sack with a banana :D Alton Brown did it on Good Eats. That was with a yellow tomato though, hopefully green will ripen in time! Good luck.
Shoot lol I lied I'm Zone 4 I keep forgetting. But thanks so much on the calculation thing. I will plant them and hope they are ready for harvest in time if not then it's just a few seeds anyway! Good luck with yours I hope you get tons of them!
Oh wow that sounds delicious! Do you have a good recipe you could share? Normally I just boil them up cover them in butter and garlic salt and enjoy :D But pickling sounds very delicious in my pregnant state!
Not to steal the thread, but about planting a second round is that possible in zone 5? If this year is like the last it shouldn't get too cold until mid oct-nov. I would love to pull and get a second crop in yet!
We have 14 tomato plants with at least 10-15 tomatoes on each and they are all still green too so I feel your pain! I'm craving some fresh salsa really bad and I want them to hurry up!
The last couple days all we've been picking is radishes (2nd crop doing SO much better) to thin them out. DH planted them by digging two long trenches and walking dumping the entire see pack in lol. They all took and we have a bagillion of them out there. We thought our snow peas were done...
Why don't you buy it again? Is it something that comes back like rhubarb every year or is that assuming that you use a couple of your heads as seed for the next year?
Our strawberries are growing sister shoots off of them, but I'm not completely sure on what to do. Do you wait until they are really long and stick the top of the shoot into the groud while it's attached to the plant or take it off the plant and plant it? So grateful for any advice from you...
I'm sorry I don't know the answer but I have a question too, what is pinching off? We are growing garlic for the first time. I interested in this, thanks for posting this thread and I can't wait to see the answers!
It just got into the 80s for the first time all year here yesterday. I think this week will be low 80s, we might hit the 90s eventually but it's normally a heat wave :p I hope that's not too hot, I suppose I can try and if nothing else I'll just scrap them and know I tried :D Thanks so much!
It says they have a 65-70 day maturity rate, so maybe you could get them out of seeds. Just wondering cause I dont know that I've ever seen them already started and I think if you enjoy cukes you'll love these! But I hope you do find them started for you :)
They kind of look like lemons sort of, they have the harder exterior of a cucumber but are yellow balls.
Since I have no idea how to do photobucket or anything here is a link with a picture on it!

Is it too late to get my carrots in the ground in zone 4, I bought a packet of beautiful looking rainbow carrot seeds I would love to give a go. I know we are set to frost over in mid-sept, but I just have this feeling we'll have an indian summer like last year where it's warm through October...
Oh fun I hope yours turn out wonderful too! They taste like the best cucumber of the season! The are a little bit sweeter I've heard people say but really they were just delicious, you know sometimes you get those cukes where the flesh has an "off" taste and then those that make you drool...
