I like a colorful grass looking plant with little wheat looking heads (about 1 ft tall) for the center. Then a medium size flower around that, like an impatient. Then a small flowy flower to fill in all around and flow over the top of the pot. Hows that for not much help?! Sorry!! :hide...

I have one hen sitting in a nesting box with several eggs tucked under. You know...safely 2 ft off the ground, walls on 3 sides. AND THEN.... I have this hen. Sitting on an 8 x8, six feet up in the air with no sides anywhere. :th Crazy bird!

I love it that we are all so creative and resourceful in how we give that little bit of extra to our chickens. :D

I think around here it is similar in regards to the old produce. I think the difference for them is that it's not like anyone is going to be boiling down some corn husks to eat themselves. At least I think not? :cool:

For the last two weeks, every time I go into the supermarket (which may be 2 to 3 times a week) I ask the produce people if I can have the bag of corn husks that everyone throws away. Around here, they have a big bucket near the corn on the cob and many people shuck it before they take it home...

That's awesome Monty! I love nothing better than to see a family outside enjoying their homestead, just being together and watching the animals. Look at the smiles. :D

Sorry bj. I know how that can be. I had wanted a rooster for 20+ years. Never was able to get one. Finally did and he was a beauty!! And a gentleman, until he was a bit over a year. Then he turned and was mean, mean, mean to the ladies. So to the freezer he went. I was sad with that one...
