Found some locally AND found a pick your own farm not too far from here with berries right now! I won't even have to wait until next year to try a few recipes. :D

It really wasn't too hard. I had made cow's milk mozz recently with a friend using a kit from New England Cheese Making Co. Used the same kit with the goat's milk and it worked just as well. :) We had planned on getting two kids this spring which we did, then an opportunity came up to also...

Nothing too exciting. Salad greens with fresh peas and homemade goat's milk mozzarella from our goat. Dressing flavored with some basil. Simple but delicious!

I found Miller Nursery in Canandaigua NY. I think I will contact them about planting times etc and order some. After I measure from my tree to see if 900 ft falls in a decent location to grow them!

Decided to look into this again after seeing some at Old Sturbridge Village. I contacted the Extension Agent here in CT. It is legal to grow red currants in CT. It is recommended to plant them 900 feet from any white pine. (White Pine blister rust is the disease currants caused a problem with)...

That's what my DH does too. He's got a long pair of thick black "linesman's gloves". He pulls it out then immediately comes in and strips. He takes a shower with naphtha soap then washes his clothes in hot water. The vinegar rinse is a great idea too. Can you borrow some goats?

My peas survived the torential rains we got last week! I've got two sprouting today. Of course, they're in pots which helped them dry out a bit. I put in Red Fire lettuce today.

I planted Tom Thumb peas in pots.

We have snowdrops and crocuses blooming, peepers peeping and I heard a red winged blackbird singing yesterday morning.

No hangover here. Just had one Russian Eggnog (eggnog, vodka and kahlua) and a sip of bubbly. Slept in and felt just fine. :cool:
