I grow pumpkins and honestly they always come out lousey. Some good but most are 'warped' and more. Any good tips I am missing on growing pumpkins? Is there a secret to that perfect one? just wondering if you have any suggestions. edited to say...next year I want some great pumpkins...

wouldn't fumes from propane and kerosene be more harmful to plants in an enclosed small space? just wondering. edited to say, is there anywhere in the home you can winter them over? I am lucky I have a monster mudroom and it works as a catchall for things like that.

:lau I lived in PA for about 8 years. You couldn't put the tip of a shovel in the ground without hitting a rock, no wait, BOULDER. alot of rock walls in PA :weight I shifted many mini boulders with Dad.

I got Totally Tomatoes and one other I can't remember. I love catalogs!

We farmed so we have about 6 hand tillers of all sizes and 1 big tractor tiller. They are a necessity I believe. NC red clay soil here. It took alot to change that to good soil. while they are 'work' to use, they do a big service to the ground. I always til.
