Don't be too quick to dismiss free animal manure. I have read some gardeners that don't want it bc there may be weeds seeds in it. So.what? Pile up your free fertilizer where you can weed it. The lack of herbicides and pesticides, like you would find in my horse's manure is worth not poisoning...
