Hi, I do not have an enclosed run, I freerange my flock. But I do have my compost near my coop and my chickens do exactly as you'd think. They help the pile immensely-imo I know they eat some of the pile-but it's a even trade as far as I'm concerned. I say-go for it.

I want one because I grew up visiting my grandma in TN and she had one in her yard-my brother and I used to climb. It's a nostalgic thing for me. She also had a huge holly tree, I'd love to have-but not hardy in my zone 5. But the mimosa-I will baby and HAVE!
